Straylight developed a real-time 3D simulation of the Australian Gold Coast as a visual aid to the Whale Watch tours operated by Sea World. Utilising global positioning data from Daestra’s TracPlus system, our game-inspired visualisation shows the position and journey of the vessel for passengers on-board, taking note of whale sightings and providing a unique view of the ocean floor.

Developed alongside the novels by acclaimed author and screenwriter Deborah M Pratt (Quantum Leap), The Vision Quest is an online experience which empowers audiences to become part of an epic vision of the future. Using social networking technology and community based game design, we created a network of micro-experiences based around the franchise, with a character creation system at its core.

When Mitre Peak Cruises Ltd came to Straylight they already had an existing website. They were going through a re-branding process and as part of that, their website was being reviewed. At face value, the previous Mitre Peak website did the trick visually but behind the scenes it was failing to convert browsers into active purchasers.

The National Energy Research Institute was set up in 2007 with a key goal of improving New Zealand’s response to the energy challenges of the 21st Century. Straylight is helping them achieve this vision by having a website that acts as a hub for all things energy related.
